All the work you see here is handmade. This includes all cutting, sewing, dyeing, lacing, glueing, finishing and tooling. I have had assistance before for a large batch of simple items, but aside from that all the work is done by my two hands.
All of my work is guaranteed, at least for as long as I'm alive. If there is ever a problem with something I did (sewing comes loose, snap falls off, etc.), all I ask is that you get the item back to me and I'll take care of the rest. If there's a problem that was not my fault (pet chews up an item, accidentally washed, etc.), I can probably fix it for a small fee.
The majority of the work I do is custom. I occasionally create some
items for my Etsy store, and there are plenty of paintings available,
but most of what I create is for customers in my commission queue.
I primarily do leather work, but can also be contacted for painting, illustration, and leather repairs. Please visit the news page to see if I'm currently accepting new work.
If you would like for me to create something for you, please be
advised that there is a lengthy wait. I have a full-time, unrelated
job repairing books and digitizing audio, and as a result this work
gets created in whatever spare time I can scrape together. Add to that
the orders already in the queue (currently 35+) and it's going to be a
while before I can get to your order.
Rush orders will be considered, but they'll cost extra and it will
depend on whether or not I'm in the middle of something else.
Getting on the waiting list is free, but when it comes time to start
your work and purchase materials I'll require a deposit. Typically
it's one third of the total cost - non-refundable but it's subtracted
from the final payment. For example, when starting a $300 bag, I'd get
$100 from you to start the work, and once it's done your final payment
would be $200. This is to cover the cost of materials and labor should
someone change their mind, as I'm likely to end up with something that
I'd have a hard time selling. If we've done business before and I know
you're good for it, then this won't be necessary.
For cases meant to house something specific, like a knife sheath,
gun holster, etc., it's best if I have the item in hand to ensure a
If you want a belt, I'll need an accurate measurement from you for
sizing. Clothing and belt manufacturers vary wildly with their sizing
standards and can't be relied upon for an accurate measurement. Please
see here for the best way to get me that measurement, and if measuring
on your body, run the tape measure through the belt loops of your
clothing on the portion of your body where you intend to wear it (high
on the waist, low on the hips, etc.)
I don't make leather clothing.
